Create Nodes

Create a new node or create a set of nodes by copying the node simultaneously.

From the Main Menu select Node/Element > Nodes > Create Nodes.

Click to the right of Create Nodes: Display the Node Table

Start Node Number

Enter a starting node number for the newly created nodes. This number is auto-set to the largest node number in use +1. To modify this item, click and select an option to specify a desired number.

Coordinates (x,y,z)

Enter the coordinates of the node by the following two methods.

1. Type in directly the x, y, z coordinates relative to the UCS.

2. Click the coordinates entry field and the desired position in the working window. The position coordinates are displayed        in the Status Bar at the bottom of the screen for reference.

It may be convenient to create nodes in conjunction with Point Grid (or Line Grid) and Grid Snap.

Copy

Copy the node created by the above procedure to simultaneously create additional nodes at an equal spacing.

Number of Times: Number of times to copy

Distances (dx,dy,dz): Copy spacing in each coordinate axis direction

In order to enter the copy spacing, type in the entry field directly, or click the copy spacing entry field and the copy distances in the working window.

Merge Duplicate Nodes

Merge overlapping nodes to single nodes if new nodes coincide with existing nodes. Click to modify the Merging Tolerance if necessary.

Intersect Frame Elements

Select the option whether to divide the existing line (beam & truss) elements at the newly created nodes that intersect the elements. Click to modify the Intersecting Tolerance if necessary.
