Revision of Civil 2014
Update Model with ImperfectionsCreate a new model file in which the geometry of analysis model is updated based on the mode shape of linear buckling analysis. The new model can be used for geometric and material nonlinear analysis to find a buckling load. Buckling Mode The selected mode shape is used to update nodal coordinates of analysis model.
Scaling The mode shape is scaled by the scale factor or by the maximum mode shape. The scaled mode shape is added to the nodal coordinates.
Scale Factor Updated coordinate = (initial coordinate) + (mode shape) x (scale factor)
Maximum Value Updated coordinate = (initial coordinate) + (mode shape) x (maximum value)/(maximum mode shape)
Note. When 'Maximum Value' is selected, the values of mode shape are scaled with reference to the values of MdXYZ(V). Example: - Buckling mode shape of a node. MdX(V)=1, MdY(V)=2, MdZ(V)=3, MdXYZ(V))=3.742 - Maximum Value = 5 - Scaling MdX(V)=1x(5/3.742), MdY(V)=2x(5/3.742), MdZ(V)=3x(5/3.742), MdXYZ(V))=3.742x(5/3.742) |
