Determine the type of the cross-section and the position of columns or bearings in the transverse direction. |
From the Main Menu select Structure > Wizard > Grillage Model Wizard > Transverse |
Type: Select the type of the cross-section for sidewalk, pavement, barrier and median strip. Slab Width: The width of top slab of the cross-section selected from the Section tab.
Enter the position of bearings for the abutments. It is activated when the Bearing Type or Hybrid Type is selected as a boundary condition on the Layout tab. D: Distance from the center line of the bridge to the center of the most exterior bearing on the (+)Y direction. Spacing: Specify the spacing of bearings sequentially on the (+)Y direction. Same as the Begin: Apply the same condition to the abutment at the end point of the bridge as the start point.
Column: When Integral Type is selected on the Layout tab: D: Distance from the center line of the bridge to the center of the most exterior column on the (+)Y direction Spacing: Specify the spacing of columns sequentially on the (+)Y direction. Bearing: When Bearing Type is selected on the Layout tab: D: Distance from the center line of the bridge to the center of the most exterior bearing on the (+)Y direction Spacing: Specify the spacing of bearings sequentially on the (+)Y direction. User Define Bent-Cap Section: The section for bent cap can be defined by the user. If this option is not used, rectangular section is applied based on the width of bent cap and the height of adjacent Girder.
This option is activated only when Bearing Type is selected on the Layout tab. Longitudinally and transversely fixed bearing is used as a reference point for the determination of the direction of free bearings in case of the 'In Line with Fixed Support' option on the Layout tab. Longitudinally Fixed Position: The position of longitudinally fixed support is shown, which is set up on the Layout tab. Transversely Fixed Position: Select the transversely fixed bearing. |
