Ambient Temperature Functions

Heat of hydration analysis is divided into two parts - ambient temperature analysis and stress analysis. Ambient temperature analysis considers not only the internal heat transfer of the mass concrete, but also the external heat transfer which occurs on the surface of the concrete. The user assigns the ambient temperature at the contact of the surface to consider the external heat transfer.

From the Main Menu select Load > Heat of Hydration > Heat of Hydration Analysis Data > Ambient Temperature Functions.

: Click to add a new ambient temperature function.

: Click to modify a previously defined ambient temperature function.

: Click to delete a previously defined ambient temperature function.

: Click to close the dialog box.

If is clicked

Function Name: Enter the name of the ambient temperature function.

Function Type: Specify the type of the ambient temperature function.

Constant:Assign a constant ambient temperature.

Sine Function: Ambient temperature fluctuates in a Sine function.

User: User defined variation of ambient temperature

If Sine Function is selected

T: Amplitude of the Sine function

to: Time immediately after concrete casting (days)

To: Initial temperature immediately after concrete casting

If User is  selected

Time: Assign the time

Temperature: Assign the corresponding temperature.

Note

If the duration of the entire construction stage exceeds the time assigned for ambient temperature function, then the final temperature continues up to the last construction stage.
