Heat Source Functions

Define heat source of concrete to model the amount of heat generated during hydration.

From the Main Menu select Load > Heat of Hydration > Heat of Hydration Analysis Data > Heat Source Functions.

: Click to define a new heat source function.

: Click to modify a previously defined heat source function.

: Click to delete a previously defined heat source function.

: Click to close the dialog box.

Heat Source as a Constant

Function Name: Enter the name of the heat source function.

Heat Source: Define the constant heat source over time.

Heat source function defined by Code

Adiabatic temperature rise defined by Code is used. The factors affecting the adiabatic temperature rise are defined.

Function Name : Enter the name of the heat source function

Function

Maximize adiabatic temp. rise (K) : varies with Code

Reactive velocity coefficient (a) : varies with Code

Use Concrete Data : Calculate Maximum adiabatic temperature rise and reactive velocity coefficient based on the concrete information.

Cement type : Select cement type

Temperature : Specify concrete pour temperature.

Cement Content : Specify the amount of cement content per unit volume.

When User is selected

The user can directly define the heat source function by selecting User Type. The heat source function can be inputted in a table format for two cases - either Heat Source or Temperature.
