Slab/Shell Rebars for Checking

Enter the rebar data for members for strength verification.

From the Main Menu select Design > Meshed Design > Slab/Shell Rebars for Checking

00-Check.jpg Type Name

Enter the name of rebar data.

00-Check.jpg Element List

Enter the element numbers of plate elements to enter the specified rebar data.

00-Check.jpg Shell

Enter the standard rebar sizes, the spacing of rebars and covers to be used in the Shell Flexural Checking function.

Top-Dir. 1: Enter the standard rebar size and spacing in the direction 1 for the top of the shell.

Bot.-Dir. 1: Enter the standard rebar size and spacing in the direction 1 for the bottom of the shell.

Top-Dir. 2: Enter the standard rebar size and spacing in the direction 2 for the top of the shell.

Bot.-Dir. 2: Enter the standard rebar size and spacing in the direction 2 for the bottom of the shell.

Add Rebar 1: Enter the standard rebar size and spacing of  rebar set 1.

Add Rebar 2: Enter the standard rebar size of rebar set 2 if necessary.

Note. The spacing is defined as the distance between adjacent bars. When the sizes of rebar 1 and rebar 2 are selected as P26 and P20 respectively and the spacing is defined as 100 mm,  it means that P26 bars and P20 bars are placed alternately at intervals of 100 mm as shown below.

Cover to Rebar Center: Distance from the concrete surface to the centroid of rebars.

Parameter for Sandwich Model

Consider Iteration for Optimal Design

If you Check off the option, the default thickness of each outer layers is applied as the 20% of element thickness. If you Check on the option, the layer thickness is determined by the program to provide optimum design results.

Consider Iteration for Optimal Design = Check off

Top Layer Thickness: Enter the thickness of top layer. Two times of cove to rebar center is recommended.

Bottom Layer Thickness: Enter the thickness of bottom layer. Two times of cove to rebar center is recommended.

Consider Iteration for Optimal Design = Check on

Limit Thickness of Top Layer: Enter the maximum thickness of top layer.

Limit Thickness of Bottom Layer: Enter the maximum thickness of bottom layer.

Number of Iteration: Enter the maximum number of iterations.

Convergence Tolerance: Enter the Convergence Tolerance value.
