Define Load Combination

 

 

 

Enter the member forces to be used in the section design (Interaction Curve, Moment-Curvature, Stress).

Sign convention for axial forces: Positive values are considered compression.

 

 

 

From the Main Menu select Load > Define Load Combination.

Click Define Load Combination in the Icon Menu.

 

 

 

Enter the load combination name and member forces. When the section is imported from midas Gen/Civil using "Midas Link", the member forces for the specified load cases and combinations can be automatically imported.  

Note

Sign convention for axial forces of GSD is opposite to midas Gen/Civil. Therefore, the sign of axial forecs imported from midas Gen/Civil is automatically changed from (+) to (-) or from (-) to (+).

Define Load Combination dialog box

Load Combination: Enter the load combination name.

P: Axial forces

My: Bending moment about Y-axis

Mz: Bending moment about Z-axis

Vy: Shear force in Y-axis (Shear force check is not supported in this version.)

Vz: Shear force in Z-axis (Shear force check is not supported in this version.)

T: Torsional moment about X-axis (Torsion moment check is not supported in this version.)
