MGT Command Shell

Execute MGT (Midas Gen Text) format commands to enter the model data.
The user may find it more convenient to directly enter the modeling data via an MGT file, which is later incorporated into the modeling data. In lieu of creating a data file solely in GUI environment, the use of MGT may come in handy at times. Type in the nodal coordinates, material properties, section data, specified displacements and design parameters. |

From the Main Menu select Tools > MGT Command Shell.
Shortcut key : Ctrl+[F12] |

MGT Command Shell
: Open an MGT file.
: Save the revision as an MGT file.
Command or Data
Select the command to be executed.
Arrange the parameters used in the selected command according to the entry format in the command window.
The above figure shows the entry of material data by selecting *Material followed by clicking . To incorporate the material data into the modeling data, enter the parameters in the specified format in the command window and click at the bottom. The entries in the command window are then executed and reflected in the model data.
Refer to "MGT File Quick Reference" for details concerning the MGT command.
Display the contents of the current model data related to the selected command in the command window. can be very effective when the model data are to be modified "en bloc". Modify add to the data and click to update the existing data for new model data.
Note
Delete the contents entered in the current model data for the selected command.
Execute the contents entered in the command window and add to the model data.
Delete the contents entered in the command window.
