Section for Design

Member design and strength verification of structural steel or concrete sections based on the section data defined by the user.

From the Main Menu select Design > Section > Section for Design.

 : Select a section name from the list to display the following dialog box

: Restore the sections selected to the original state.

: Restore all the sections modified to the original state.

Section ID: Section number

Name: Section name

 : Pull-down list for sectional shapes

User: User-defined section

DB: Section Database Name

Built-Up Section: Classification of components

Note
The parameters noted below signify the sectional components of a built-up section. The allowable stress reduction factor for built-up sections is reflected in strength verification according to AISC-ASD89. If unchecked, rolled sections are applied.

H: Section height (depth)

B1: Width of first flange

tw: Thickness of web

tf1: Thickness of first flange

B2: Width of the second flange

tf2: Thickness of second flange

 : Calculate and display the sectional properties of the selected section.

 : Apply the entered values or the selection and close the Dialog Box.

 : Cancel the command.

 : Enter the values for the selected section.
