Add AccelerationDefine a new acceleration data function.
Modify/Show Check and modify previously defined data.
Delete Delete data.
Function Name Select the Time History Analysis condition entered in the time history analysis Function. Click the Seismic Wave button to define the function if not previously defined.
Time Function Data Type Normalized Acceleration Only the values obtained through Time History Acceleration Spectrum divided by the gravitational acceleration can be used.
Scaling Specify a multiplier for the Ground Acceleration function. Scale Factor A scale factor to increase/decrease the acceleration. Maximum Value The spectrum data is modified such that the maximum acceleration is set by the Maximum Value.
Gravity Display the applied acceleration of gravity.
Graph Options Specify whether or not to produce the graph in a log scale along each axis.
Description Enter the brief description of the Ground Acceleration function. The default shows the peak acceleration and duration used in ground acceleration generation.
Generate Earthquake Response Spectrum Calculate the seismic
response spectrum and display it in a graph either by using the seismic
wave data of the built-in earthquake record or by user-defined values.
Input the damping ratio. If a number of graphs
corresponding to a multiple number of damping ratios need to be simultaneously
generated, click the Select the spectrum type. Check on to generate graphs in a log scale along each axis.
Note: The program supports the following 3 entry methods 1. Saving a frequently used time history load into a file and importing the file. Use the method to import previously created Time History Load data. The data are saved with a '*.sgs' or '*.thd' extension and written in the following formats:
2. Accessing the built-in Time History Load data in SoilWorks. Use the feature to create Time History Loads by importing various seismic data from database.
3. Directly defining in the dialog box of Add Ground Acceleration Function/Modify/Show Directly define Time and the corresponding Time History Loads in the table.
