Story Axial Force Sum Table
|
|
|
In order to calculate resisting moments, the sum of axial forces of vertical members at a story and the coordinates of the center of the axial forces are tabulated in a spread sheet format.
When "Story Shear Force Ratio>Consider Story Module"is checked in the "Model/Building/Control Data", accurate shear forces can be obtained for the story having the overlapping Module.
When Modules are defined in Results > Result Tables > Story > Define Module, the Module data is displayed in the first column of the table.

From the Main Menu select Results > Result Tables > Story > Story Axial Force Sum
Select Result Tables > Story > Story Axial Force Sum in the Tables tab of the Tree Menu. |

From Record Activation Dialog, select the load cases/combinations for which the centers of Vertical Axial Force Sum will be calculated.
Record Activation dialog box
Refer to Usage of Table Tool and check the following data:
Load Case: Load case/Combination
Story: Story ID
Level: Story Elevation
Story Height: Story Height
1. Axial Force Sum of Vertical Elements
Sum of axial forces of vertical members at a corresponding story for the given loading condition
2. Center of Axial Force Sum
The center of the axial force sum is found in both X & Y directions. The sum of the 1st moment of each axial force is divided by the total axial force in each direction.
X Coodinate: for the center of total axial force at a corresponding story
Y Coodinate: for the center of total axial force at a corresponding story
The Module column is generated only when the Modules are defined. Results are generated for each Module.
Note Story Axial Force Sum for the top floor of the Base Module is not generated.
Module: Module name is defined in Define Module
Load Case: Load case/Combination
