< General Grouping Dialog >

Generate Grouping

Auto group Steel and RC members.

Auto Select : Auto Group all members exclude the members which have been applied Group Fix. Change Group of members which have not been applied Group Fix according to Auto Grouping Rule. If Auto Select option is not checked, perform Grouping only on the selected members.

Common Grouping Rule (RC member) : Separate Group for the members with different material, section dimension or rebar information.

Common Grouping Rule (Steel member) : Separate Group for the members with different material, section dimension. Group Name and Start Number of all items can be defined by user.

[Beam LOD / Footing Girder] LOD & Naming Rules

LOD1 (Level of Detail 1) : Separate location of beam into exterior and interior beam and group them separately. If Level is different, it is assigned as different Group.

LOD2 (Level Of Detail 2) : Discontinuous beams from LOD1 result are separated into other group. More detail grouping result than LOD1 can be obtained.

Blue_Square.gifLOD3 (Level Of Detail 3) : Separate Group for each member. More detail grouping result than LOD2 can be obtained.

 

Sub Beam LOD& Naming Rules

LOD1 (Level of Detail 1) : Sub Beam with identical dimension and rebar information in the Same Level will be assigned as one Group.

LOD2 (Level of Detail 2) : Discontinuous beams from LOD1 result are separated into other group. More detail grouping result than LOD1 can be obtained.

[Column / Pedestial] Naming Rules

Blue_Square.gifLOD1 (Level of Detail 1), LOD2 (Level of Detail 2) : Columns at the corner, edge and interior are recognized and separated in different Group.

Blue_Square.gifLOD3 (Level of Detail 2) : Separate Group for each member. More detail grouping result than LOD1 and 2 can be obtained.

Sub Column Naming Rules

Continuous Sub Columns will be assigned in the same Group and it will be assigned in different Group in all the other cases.

Brace Naming Rules

  Separate Group according to analysis member type.

Members with identical analysis member type with same material and section will be assigned as one Group.

Beam-Brace : Grouping of Brace which is analyzed as Beam member.

Truss-Brace : Grouping of Brace which is analyzed as Truss member.

Tens. Only : Grouping of Brace which is analyzed as Tension only member.

Comp. Only : Grouping of Brace which is analyzed as Compression only member.

  Use Member Set : Separate Brace in other Member Set into other Group.

[Isolated / Strip / Mat Footing] Naming Rules

Individual Plate member will be assigned in one group.

[Wall / Basement Wall/ Plate] Naming Rules

Individual Wall member will be assigned in one group.

[Slab / Flat Slab] Naming Rules

Blue_Square.gifLOD1 (Level of Detail 1) : Slab members with same thickness, strength in the same Level will be assigned in one Group.

Blue_Square.gifLOD2 (Level of Detail 2) : Separate into different Group by differentiating with corner, exterior and interior from LOD1. More detail grouping result than LOD1 can be obtained.

Special Grouping

Convenient Grouping feature for Truss and Lattice.

Single Truss or bundle of Lattice can be Grouped and group of repetitive unit structure can be Grouped as well. In order to use Special Grouping function, selected member has to be registered as Member Set. Member which has applied Special Grouping function can be managed with separate Truss List or Lattice List when drawing is generated in midas Drawing.

 

Member Set Register Procedure

1. Member Set Definition : Define Tab > Define Set > Member Set or Tree Menu > Model Tab >

Member > Right Click > Add Member Set

2. Select Members to form Member Set

(Tree Menu > Model Tab > Member > Right Click newly defined Member Set > Assign)

Group will be fixed for Member which is applied Special Grouping function.

Fix Group

  Exclude from group recalculation when Auto-Generate Design Group is used.

Member Set : Select separated Member Set.

Type : Select type of selected Member Set.

 

Condition

1. In order to assign as same Group, members within Member Set should be structured in repetitive form of unit structure.

2. Member Set of Parallel Chord Truss Type and Standard Roof Type should only consist of Beam and Brace.

3. Member Set of Lattice ColumnÀÇ Type should only consist of Column and Brace.

Perform auto grouping of Truss components where Top Chord Beam and Bottom Chord Beam are parallel.

Perform auto grouping of Truss components where Top Chord Beam is gable style.
