Curve: Create Edge on Face

 

 

 

 

Function

 

Create an Edge on an existing Face.  Select a Face and two edges, which constitute the Face.  A new Edge is created starting from a specified point on the first selected edge and ending at a specified point on the second selected edge.

 

 

 

 

 

Call

 Geometry > Curve > Create 3D > Edge on Face

Select Target Shape

Select a Face on which a new straight line (Edge) will be created.
 

Select First Edge

Select an Edge of the Face from which the new straight line will start.  The selected Edge is highlighted as a yellow arrow, and the Ratio should be entered relative to the direction of the arrow.
 

Select Second Edge

Select an Edge of the Face at which the new straight line will end.  The selected Edge is highlighted as a yellow arrow, and the Ratio should be entered relative to the direction of the arrow.
 

Ratio

 

First Edge

The start point of a new Edge to be created is located on the selected First Edge.  The Ratios of 0 and 1 represent the start and end of the arrow respectively.
Second Edge

The end point of a new Edge to be created is located on the selected Second Edge.  The Ratios of 0 and 1 represent the start and end of the arrow respectively.

 

Automatic Ratio by Picking

The start and end points of a new Edge to be created are automatically entered by mouse clicks on the Edges of the Face.  The Ratios are auto-calculated for the points selected by the mouse.
 

Divide Face

Divide the selected Face at the newly created Edge.
