Curve: Trim Edge

 

 

 

 

Function

 

Trim (remove) a portion of a Curve (Edge, Wire) intersected with and relative to another Curve (Edge, Wire).  Trim is applicable only when the edges exist in the Work Plane.

Geometry > Curve > Trim

Select Base Entity

Select a base Curve (Edge, Wire), which will become a reference for the Trim operation.  Press the Apply button in order to proceed to the next step.  You may select a number of base Curves (Edge, Wire) at a time. The Base Entity will remain intact even after the Trim operation.
 

Select Entity to Trim Off

Select the Curve (Edge, Wire) to be trimmed off.  The portion of the Curve, which has been clicked, will be removed.

Where a Wire is selected for Select Entity to Trim Off, the operation will be carried out only if you click on the part of the Wire, which directly intersects the Base Entity.

After a Trim operation, the source curve disappears and only the modified curve remains.

<Instruction>

1. After checking the message of Select Base Entity, select two of Base Entity.

2. Click [Apply].

3. After checking the message of Select Segment to Trim Off, select Segment to Trim. Click the marked part as circle shown as upper picture.

 Note

1. If you select Segment, the part clicked by mouse will be Trimmed off.
