<Sphere dialog box> |
Center XYZ Specify
the coordinates of the center of a Sphere. The
coordinates can be directly entered in the dialog box, or a point can
be selected in the Work Plane with the mouse. When
a point is entered by a mouse click while the Use Snap function is turned
off, only the coordinates of the center point will be entered and the
Sphere will not be generated automatically. Radius Specify
the Radius of the Sphere. Angle1 Specify
a starting angle of the vertical section plane of the Sphere. Angle2 Specify
an ending angle of the vertical section plane of the Sphere. Anlgle3 Specify
a revolution angle of the vertical section plane. GCS Specify
the coordinates of the Center XYZ in 3-dimensional space in the Global
Coordinate System. WCS Specify
the X- and Y- coordinates of the Center XYZ relative to the Work Plane
Coordinate System. Thus, the center of the Sphere
will be located at the Work Plane. Name Enter the name of the Sphere to be created.
Use Snap The
Use Snap function automatically places a Sphere centered on the point
of a mouse click upon the mouse click. Solid This option creates a Sphere of the Solid type. If it is unchecked, a Sphere of the Shell type will be created. |

Notes |
A revolved geometric shape such as Cone and Sphere causes a singular vertex at its apex during mesh generation. At the singular vertex, a number of element nodes comes together. Consequently, it often yields abnormal analysis result. This singular vertex is inevitable for every type of revolved shapes due to revolution axis. Therefore, it must be corrected after it was generated manually using Re-meshing Feature.
