Primitive Feature: Wedge

Function

Create a wedge (irregular hexahedron) of the Shell or Solid type.

Corner XYZ

Specify the coordinates of a corner of the bottom face of a Wedge (Pentahedron).  The coordinates can be directly entered in the dialog box, or a point can be selected in the Work Plane with the mouse.  When a point is entered by a mouse click while the Use Snap function is turned off, only the coordinates of the corner point will be entered and the Wedge will not be generated automatically.

DX

Specify the length of the lower face of the Wedge in the X-direction.

DY

Specify the height of the Wedge in the Y-direction.

DZ

Specify the width of the lower face of the Wedge in the Z-direction.

Xmin

Specify the X-coordinate of the starting point of the upper face of the Wedge relative to the Corner XYZ in the X-direction.

Xmax

Specify the X-coordinate of the end point of the upper face of the Wedge relative to the Corner XYZ in the X-direction.

ZMin

Specify the Z-coordinate of the starting point of the upper face of the Wedge relative to the Corner XYZ in the Z-direction.

ZMax

Specify the Z-coordinate of the end point of the upper face of the Wedge relative to the Corner XYZ in the Z-direction.

A Wedge is created as follows.  The coordinates of the Corner XYZ of the lower face of a Wedge is specified as (X, Y, Z).  The lower face is defined by a rectangle connecting from (X, Y, Z) to (X+DX, Y, Z+DZ).  The upper face of the Wedge is a rectangle connecting from (X+Xmin, Y+DY, Z+Zmin) to (X+Xmax, Y+DY, Z+Zmax).  The Wedge is constructed with reference to these two rectangles.

GCS

Specify the coordinates of the Corner XYZ in 3-dimensional space in the Global Coordinate System.

WCS

Specify the X- and Y- coordinates of the Corner XYZ relative to the Work Plane Coordinate System.  Thus, the Wedge will be located on the Work Plane.

Name

Enter the name of the Wedge to be created.

Use Snap

The Use Snap function automatically places a Wedge cornered on the point of a mouse click upon the mouse click.

Solid

This option creates a Wedge of the Solid type.  If it is unchecked, a Wedge of the Shell type will be created.
