Surface: Grid Face

Function

Grid Face creates a complex curved surface by specifying heights at Grid points on an imaginary Grid assigned in the Work Plane.

Call

Geometry > Surface > Create > Grid Face

<Grid Face>

M(Size)

Enter the number of grid lines perpendicular to the direction of the X-axis.

N(Size)

Enter the number of grid lines perpendicular to the direction of the Y-axis.

Origin X

Enter the X-coordinate value of the starting point of the Grid in the Work Plane Coordinates.

Origin Y

Enter the Y-coordinate value of the starting point of the Grid in the Work Plane Coordinates.

DX

Enter the grid spacing in the X-direction.

DY

Enter the grid spacing in the Y-direction.

Name

Enter the name of the surface to be created.

Elevation

Z-direction coordinates, which constitute a surface, are entered in the Table dialog box.  Data can be read from a file.  The file type is similar to that for Point Data File used in Tabular Input.
