Function |
Face Mesh Control allows us to define the properties of elements and the method of mesh generation, which will be applied to selected faces in advance |

Call |
Mesh > Mesh Control > On Face |

<Face Mesh Control> |
Select Face(s) Select
faces, which will be assigned a mesh control. Name Enter
a name for the Face Mesh Control. Mesher Select
mesh generation algorithm and element type.
Generate Offset Element Construct
meshes at the boundaries of the selected faces first, and then expand
the meshes inward. This command may be applicable
for generating quadrilateral meshes using the Loop Mesher or the Grid
Mesher.

Notes |
Once a Mesh Control is assigned to a shape, the Mesh Control and the shape are interconnected. Since a shape with a Mesh Control can not be modified, a copy is made, which is then modified. Such interconnection can not be released by Freeze unlike other cross-references linked in the process of modeling. The Mesh Control must be deleted in the Works Tree. It is therefore recommended that a Mesh Control be assigned at the last stage in a modeling process. A mesh control, which has been created, is located under Mesh Control of Mesh in the Works Tree. It can be either edited or deleted by a right click on each entity. The assigned properties will continue to take effect until the mesh control is either edited or deleted. The mesher specified in Mesh Control is applicable only when the menu included in the Auto Mesh is used. Therefore, if a face is to be Map meshed after specifying Loop Mesher, Map Mesh is generated in lieu of Loop Mesh. The Attribute is always applied to all the commands related to mesh generation.

<Instruction>
1. Select Face(s) where Mesh Control will be applied. 2. Choose Grid Mesher in Mesher (meshing algorithm). 3. Select Quad+Tria in Type. 4. Choose a Attribute which you would like to apply on the face. 5. Click [OK] button.
Note 1. Regardless of Mesher or Attribute chosen during generation, selected face(s) will be assigned with defined Attribute . 2. To check assigned Attribute of elements, user should change shading method to Attribute in Pre-Works>Mesh>Attribute Window>Display>Shading Color. |
