Function |
Solid Mesh Control allows us to define the properties of elements and the method of mesh generation, which will be applied to a selected solid in advance.

Select Solid(s) Select
solids, which will be assigned a mesh control. Name Enter
a name for the Solid Mesh Control. Hexa Mesher If
checked on, 3-D hexahedron mesh is generated; otherwise, tetrahedron mesh
is generated. Select Base Face Select
a base face, which will be referenced to determine the shape of a Solid
Map Mesh. Solid Map Mesh is generated using the 2D mesh of the base face.

Once a Mesh Control is assigned to a shape, the Mesh Control and the shape are interconnected. Since a shape with a Mesh Control can not be modified, a copy is made, which is then modified. Such interconnection can not be released by Freeze unlike other cross-references linked in the process of modeling. The Mesh Control must be deleted in the Works Tree. It is therefore recommended that a Mesh Control be assigned at the last stage in a modeling process. A mesh control, which has been created, is located under Mesh Control of Mesh in the Works Tree. It can be either edited or deleted by a right click on each entity. The assigned properties will continue to take effect until the mesh control is either edited or deleted. A Base Face can be selected on a solid for which Map Mesh is not automatically generated in Solid Map Mesh. However, only one solid can be meshed at a time. If a number of Base Faces are defined for a number of solids, multiple solids can be hexa-meshed at the same time using Map Mesh Solid.

1. Select Solid(s) where Mesh Control will be applied. 2. Choose a Attribute which you would like to apply on the solid(s). 3. Click [OK] button.
Note 1. Regardless of Mesher or Attribute chosen during generation, selected solid(s) will be assigned with defined Attribute. 2. To check assigned Attribute of elements, user should change shading method to Attribute in Pre-Works>Mesh>Attribute Window>Display>Shading Color.
