Element: Divide 2D

Function

Divide 2D elements Face, Edge, Mesh, Element using provided patterns or by specified number of divisions.

Call

 Model > Element > Divide 2D

Select Element(s)

Select elements (Face, Edge, Mesh, Element) to be divided.
 

Divide by Pattern

Pattern-2

It consists of 11 patterns which divides an element into 2. Red dots in the pattern figure represent Reference Node. White dots represents Reference Node that can be ignored.
 

Pattern-3

It consists of 11 patterns which divides an element into 3. Red dots in the pattern figure represent Reference Node.
 

Select Reference Node(s)

Select Reference Node.
 

Divide by Number

Division along Axis 1

Specify the number of division on Axis 1.
 

Division along Axis 2

Specify the number of division on Axis 2.
 

Axis Direction

Choose a method of defining Axis 1 and Axis 2 of selected elements. It can be determined by following 3 methods.

Element Csys

It uses x-axis of element coordinate system as Axis 1.

Coordinate Axis

Assign a reference coordinate system.

CSys

Select a coordinate system.

Axis 1

Select an axis to be used as Axis 1.

Location along Vector

It uses the direction of a vector as Axis 1.

Origin

Enter the origin of defining vector.

Pnt on Axis 1

Ener the end point of the vector.

Note: Divide by Number will be applied only for quadrilateral elements.
