Material - Transversely Isotropic

Introduction

Natural ground is quite often composed in multi-layers of stratification, which is inclined relative to an analytical geo-model. This necessitates a possibility to reflect varying stiffness values across the stratification in the perpendicular direction.

Parameters

Modulus of Elasticity (E)

E1: Elastic modulus normal to the stratification

E2: Elastic modulus tangential to the stratification

Poisson's Ratio (v)

Poisson’s ratio normal to the stratification

Poisson’s ratio tangential to the stratification

Shear Modulus:

Shear modulus relevant to the tangential direction

  Principal Dir. of Material (a1)

Inclination of the local axis.  Refer to Section 3.2 Analysis Manual.

   Principal Dir. of Material (a2)

Inclination of the local axis.  Refer to Section 3.2 Analysis Manual.

Declination (true North direction relative to an analytical model)

Declination angle from True North.
