Function

This section will outline the necessary procedures to request a Protection Key Identification number PKID/ Key Number and gaining full access to midas GTS,

Authentication Method

 

There are two types of authentication methods:  

1) Web Authentication

Web Authentication is a convenient feature which allows users to access GTS without the use of a Dongle.  Depending on the license and number of authorized license, users can access GTS anytime and anywhere with only their User ID, Password, and Key Number.

 

2) Other Type (Requires dongle USB hardware )

 

1) Web Authentication

Allows users to activate only evaluation versions of midas GTS via internet connection.

Web Authentication Requirements:

1)  Register to create a membership MUSS ID account by click the "Membership" button.

2)  Obtain "Key Number."  If the "Key Number" is not available, please contact esupport@midasit.com

3)  Enter User ID, Password, and Key Number.

 

Activation requires the user to first visit the certification website.  

 

Step 1:  Open GTS and go to main menu Help > Register Protection Key.

Step 2:  Click "Membership" to register and confirm User ID and Password.  Confirmation is sent via e-mail.

Step 3:  Go to MUSS website eng.midasuser.com  and click on "Evaluation" tab to enter User ID, Password.

Step 4:  Fill out form and obtain confirmation email containing Key Number.

Step 5:  Open GTS Main Menu: Help > Register Protection Key and enter User ID, Password, and Key Number.

Step 6:  Click "Lock Option Configuration"  and ensure that the desired options are check.

Step 7:  Click "OK"

 

 

 

All options are activated for Evaluation licenses.

Key Number

Unique number that is obtained after complete registration.

 

Lock Type

There are two types of locks:

 

Floating:  One Floating license allows one user the rights to access GTS.  The user can activate the rights again from a different terminal.  Multiple stations can gain full rights to GTS, but the number of stations is dependent on the number of licenses.

 

Node: Single or Evaluation Users only.

 

Use Proxy Server

Activates Proxy Server.

 

Do not display this dialog at startup

Deactivates the GTS splash window.

 

Lock Option Configuration

Users have the option to select the program options.

 

 

2) Other Type

In case "Other Type" is selected.

 

Stand-alone/ Network  Requirements:

 

One (1) Dongle:  A dongle is a USB key that contains an unique Protection Key Number.

 Dongle must be connected to the primary computer when using GTS.

Stand-alone procedure:

 

Step 1:  Ensure Dongle is connected.

Step 2:  Open GTS and go to Help > Register Protection Key

Step 3:  Select Other Type.

Step 4: Select Key Type as "Stand-alone."

Step 5: In "Update Security Device" copy and paste the "Authentication Number" and "New Key Number."

Step 6:  "New Key Number" copy paste syntax.   --->  Pre/Post # - Solver ie.  E30A428254C40A49-C1FF3312C3F0096D

Step 7: Click [OK] to automatically generate a "New Key Number."

Step 8: Click [OK] in the "Register Protection Key" dialog box.

 

Network  procedure:

 

Step 1:  Ensure Dongle is connected.

Step 2:  Open GTS and go to Help > Register Protection Key

Step 3: Select Other Type.

Step 4: Select Key Type as "Network" and select "Protocol."

Step 5: Enter "Server Name or IP Address."

Step 6: Click [Update Lock]

Step 5: In "Update Security Device" copy and paste the "Authentication Number" and "New Key Number."

Step 6:  "New Key Number" copy paste syntax.   --->  Pre/Post # - Solver ie.  E30A428254C40A49-C1FF3312C3F0096D

Step 7: Click [OK] to automatically generate a "New Key Number."

Step 8: Click [OK] in the "Register Protection Key" dialog box.
