PSC Segment Assignment

This feature enables the user to provide the location of joints for design in the segmentally constructed bridges. Segments consist of consecutively selected elements. The I and J positions of each segment are considered joint locations.

From the Main Menu select PSC > PSC Design Data > PSC Segment Assignment.

Option

Add/Replace: Add/Replace the elements for segment assignment

Delete: Delete the segment assignment defined previously for the selected element

Member

Allow Single Element Member: Check on to designate a single element as a member. This option provides the I and J node of a single element as Joint location. If this option is unchecked, then at least two consecutive elements have to be selected together as a segment.

Joint Type

Resin: Assign the I and J position of the selected segment as Resin Mortar Joint.

Cement: Assign the I and J position of the selected segment as Cement Mortar Joint.

Note

Stress limit check at the joint is only provided for BS 5400 standard.

Index: Displays the starting element number for the segment

Element List: Displays the list of elements to be considered as one segment.

Joint Type: Displays the joint type assigned to the I and J position of each segment.
