Arc

Create Arc(s) of the edge type for geometry modeling.

Structural Properties can be assigned to Arc(s) from which 1D mesh can be generated. After the generation of mesh, Loads/Boundaries can be assigned to Arc(s), which are applied to Nodes/Elements.

From the Main Menu, select Geometry > Create > Arc arc1.gif

From the Command Line, type 'Arc' or 'A'

An Arc can be drawn from either of the methods as described below:

Method 1

Start Point-Second Point-End Point: Create an Arc by specifying center point, start point and end point of an Arc.

ARC Specify start point of arc or [Center]: Select the start point of an arc or enter the coordinates.

Specify second point: Select the second point of the arc or enter the coordinates.

Specify end point of arc: Select the last point of the arc or enter the coordinates.

Method 2

Center Point-Start Point-End Point: Create an Arc by specifying center point, start point and end point (angle) of an Arc.

ARC Specify start point of arc or [Center]: Enter C

Specify center point of arc: Select the center point or enter the coordinates.

Specify start point of arc: Select the start point or enter the coordinates.

Specify end point of arc [Angle]: Select the last point or enter the coordinates.

Method 3

Center Point-Start Point-Angle: Create an Arc by specifying the center point, start point and the included angle of the Arc.

ARC Specify start point of arc or [Center]: Enter C

Specify center point of arc: Select the center point or enter the coordinates.

Specify start point of arc: Select the start point or enter the coordinates.

Specify end point of arc [Angle]: Enter A

Specify included angle: Specify the angle of the Arc about the center point, which covers from the start point to the end point. A positive angle represents the counter-clockwise direction (by right hand rule).
