Curve: Create Offset Curve

Function

Create a new Curve by offsetting a Curve.

Call

Geometry > Curve > Create 3D > Offset Curve

<Offset Curve>

Select Base Edge(s)

Select Edge(s) to Offset.
 

Normal Direction

Specify an Offset Direction.  The Offset operation is carried out on the plane Normal to the selected direction.
 

Dir

Specify a Direction (Datum Axis, Datum Plane, Face, Edge) for Select Normal Direction.
Vector

Enter the GCS components of the Direction Vector.
 

Make Face

Create a Face using the source edge and the edge created by Offset.
 

Offset Distance

Specify the Offset Distance.

Notes

When the Normal Direction of an edge is known such as an arc (Edge), the Direction need not be specified.  Whereas the Normal Direction is required for Edges such as straight lines, etc.

When a Direction is entered for offsetting a number of arcs and straight lines, the Direction applies only to the straight lines.
