Function
When the temperature of the entire structure varies from an initial (reference) temperature to a set temperature (final temperature) for thermal stress analysis, enter the final or system temperature. Modify or delete the previously entered final temperatures.
The thermal variation load analysis is carried out for all the elements in MIDAS/Gen. The temperature change renders thermal strains and consequent internal forces in members.
Where, is the linear thermal
expansion coefficient entered in "Material".
T1 is the initial temperature (refer to "Structure
Type") and T2 is the final temperature of the structure. The
final temperature can be assigned to the total structure. Different final
temperatures (refer to "Nodal Temperature")
may be assigned to different parts of the structure.
